An outfit so girly and romantic....
Lace & Peplum....

Which pair should I select?
Lace Top: Forever 21 Nude Camisole: Banana Republic Skirt: Zara (Similar & Here) Boots: Charles by Charles David
Continuing with this month's shoe challenge, I was determined to style these Charles David boots under anything BUT a pair of slacks/jeans. Generally speaking, I prefer either a pump or knee high boots with a skirt. I am still somewhere in the middle in terms of whether I like a mid-height shaft boot paired with a skirt in general. I've seen it in magazines countless number of times on models, yet I've never been inclined to try it. Originally, I was going to wear the Sam Edelman spiked heels, but with the encouragement from my Mom, I gave the boots a try..... The boots do infuse some edge to the look. So what do you think?

OMG what a super fabulous lace dress Bess....any shoe for that matter will all the more bring out the best of this beauty!!!

The girly dress is gorgeous and the boots give it some rock n roll. Cute!
ReplyDeleteI thought that was a dress! I love this look, and the boots are a surprising touch. I initially picked the spiked heels too, but the boots look great!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the peplum skirt! This outfit is the perfect mix of girly and tough. I think the boots were a great choice with this look!

This is gorgeous, love lace!! I was eyeing the red like shoes before I seen the boots on you. I like them with the boots, but I think I prefer the red heels. But, because the dress has a peplum, it still works. If someone wasn't wearing a peplum or flowing out kind of dress or skirt, I would wear the pumps. The boots are awesome though :)))
ReplyDeleteLooks like you are wearing a dress...love the look :)

I like the boots with this outfit - it's a hard look for a petite girl to pull off but you did it!
ReplyDeletewhat a sweet outfit and yes, you toughened it up with the rocking boots!!! i think any of your choices would have been great since the outfit was black. love your sense of fashion adventure!
ReplyDeleteI think the boots are super fun, but I'm also dying over those Sam Edelmans!
ReplyDeleteLove the outfit!
ReplyDeleteI would have gone with the Sam Edelman's only because I have been lusting after those shoes for years now... Especially the black w/gold spikes.
Well Bessie it seems like you've seriously outdone yourself once again! I love lace and I love the lace at the top then solid skirt so much and the shoes complete the look, you look an absolute stunner here Bessie, adore this outfit, lace is perfect for you.
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing collection of shoes. Love how you have paired the peplum and lace together... BRAVO girl.

I think the boots were a PERFECT choice. It's exactly what I would have chosen, and for the very same reason: to give the look a little edge. You look STUNNING, Bessie.

I am completely with you... a skirt demands tall boots or great pair of heels... low cut boots are just not my style.
ReplyDeleteThat said... your sense of style is flawless in my book and this ensemble is wonderful accordingly.

I´m drooling over your shoe collection! That bootie surely made the lacey and peplum dress edgy. ;)
ReplyDeleteLove the feminine dress with these boots. I kind of feel the same way with mid shaft boots. I like the look but sometimes just not on me because it feels like it's chopping off my legs.

ReplyDeleteI absolutely love ankle boots with a skirt, the edgier the boot the better! Fabulous choice B xo
ReplyDeleteThe outfit is really great, like always, but what I couldn't stop staring at were your red lips!!! That colour looks amazing on you Bessie ^^
ReplyDeleteThe boots are fantastic but I think the shoes from photo #3 would have been even better xx
The boots would have been my first choice. But seeing them on although a very edgy look, I would try the Sam Edelman spikey pumps or even the black/grey kind of striped ones to see how they would look (pic 3).
ReplyDeleteAwesome skirt! I think the boots look amazing with it!
ReplyDeleteThe peplum and lace is magical and the boot just come and took it all to a whole other level!!!
ReplyDeleteYou look perfect dear!!!
LOL I would've picked the spiked heels too! I also think the burgundy would look great with it! I like your mom's risk taking and it's a great look! Chic but so edgy! NNNNNICE!!!
ReplyDeleteMom always knows best! I like how the boots give a tough edge to the girl outfit.
ReplyDeleteThe boots make the outfit edgy. I would have also worn the Sam Edelman spiked heels with it too.
ReplyDeleteSo edgy-chic, Bessie! Good that your mom convinced you to give those stunning boots a try!
