Jade

Dana, this one's for you!







Jade Cocktail Dress: Karen Millen (Similar Here)
Bracelet: Nordstrom
Clutch: Forever 21  (Similar Here)
Earrings: Banana Republic
Heels: Charles David  (Similar Here) and (I want these)
In the September issue of People Style Watch there's a quiz, "What kind of shopper are you?"  Shopoholic, Bargain, Wandering, or Need based?  Based on the results, can you guess which type of shopper I am?  If you guessed Bargain and borderline Shopoholic?  You are absolutely right!  Case in point.  This dress was part of the 2011 Autumn/Winter collection from Karen Millen, originally $348.  I wanted it as soon as I saw it!  I waited for it to go on sale and picked it up after the holidays for $119!  The only drawback?  I didn't exactly have a place to wear a jade green cocktail dress in January, or any winter occasion without looking like leftover fruitcake.  The classic con of a bargain shopper, "Sometimes a sale item isn't such a bargain. Do you really need it," (People, Sept. 212).  My wants always overpower my needs....always!

There was one that was gorgeous - got it for about $99. Never wore it so I consigned it and they marked it at $125 and it sold almost immediately! ;-)

  54. It's a really pretty dress and not so trendy that you can't wear it over the holidays this year so it was good, it just requires patience. :)

    I am a need based shopper but I always "need" clothes when I'm cranky and then wind up with nothing. Not the best strategy but I'm trying to get better.

  117. Boy do I know that feeling! For instance, a while back I spotted a pair of glittery stilettos that I wanted so so bad...and they were on sale, but I knew if I bought them they would just sit in my closet looking pretty. It's so hard to fight the urge though!
