How do we feel about the peplum trend? Do we love it? Has it had its 10 seconds of fame? Have you been meaning to try it.... but just haven't found the perfect piece? I feel like I am working in Marketing Research! Personally, I like it, but only in small doses. I like how peplum adds flair to any look, after all what's fashion without flair? You'll see a few more looks featuring peplum this month! Some I've even created on my own! Rest assured, I'll be sure to share it in a quasi "DIY." You'll probably chuckle when you see what I did...hence the reason I deem it a "quasi-DIY."
You are looking very smart in this look.
ReplyDeleteI love your skirt. I find it very gorgeous because of the layers and ribbons. Bright orange accessories and the orange bag { really nice bag } makes the outfit more cheerful and gives an informal touch. I love your pose in the 6th Photograph { hands on hair}!
Keep it up !
Your skirt is fabulous: perfect for workwear and also for casual outfit!

this skirt has a very subtle peplum effect and its really different - i love it on you. i dont think the peplum skirts or dresses would look good on me because of how they tend to be cut. you pull it off well. and i love that clutch!
ReplyDeleteHi Bessie! I love your skirt! It is so pretty and the peplum on it is so unique! Great look! Have a wonderful day! xx Pip

ReplyDeleteI personally love the peplum trend, it is so flattering. Love your outfit, especially the gorgeous bag! xox

I haven't tried peplum, partly because I think it would only add more bulk where I need it least. That skirt looks great on you, though, and I absolutely love your earrings!
ReplyDeleteI really love this look!!
ReplyDeleteThe detailing on your bag is gorgeous and it matches your arm party so well! I haven't found anything peplum that isn't crazy expensive, so nothing in my closet yet. But I think it's a trend that's so ladylike and sophisticated, can't wait to try it :)

I really love the skirt. And I do like peplums, I think they're a very cool and different look.
ReplyDeleteI did a whole post on peplums recently, too. Love the skirt, looks very designer'y and the bag is just beautiful! x
ReplyDeleteI love peplum on others. =) I haven't tried it yet myself because I'm kind of a curvy girl and I really don't like the idea of adding pounds to my hip area! lol But like so many other things, if I try it out, I might end up liking it! I think that skirt looks so cute on you!
ReplyDeletelove those sandals!!
ReplyDeletepeplum is out for me just because of my rule... if i wore it the last time it was in style, i probably won't wear it again.
I wore the heck out of this trend in the 80's ala Dynasty style. :)

I have a peplum top I bought from H&M (in black of course, looking back should have grabbed the hot pink ;) that I have yet to wear. I like the pemlum I think it's really cute.
ReplyDeleteLove this different, subtle take on peplum and the tie and pleating details! I can't stop staring at the bag... Also loving the magazine-like (made up word :)) "street" shot...you should do more of those :)

I still have to get myself peplum anything. I LOVE peplums, but I have to get one that won't make my already huge hips look even huger!

ReplyDeletekisses
that is one killer clutch! i love it!
ReplyDeleteI have steered clear of the peplum. Being only small with a short waist I really dont think I can carry it off. Some of the styles I like but most of them I sit on the fence! This skirt looks pretty though on you.
ReplyDeleteI haven't tried peplum but this one looks really cute on you :)

ReplyDeleteNot sure whether I could pull off the peplum, but that skirt is beautiful on you! This is a very fresh look with the white and chambray + orange accents. I would never have thought of wearing a ruffle top with the skirt, but I love the way they look together. :)

I love peplum! It's great for those of us who don't have any curves (like me) but want to give off the illusion of curves. The skirt looks great on you and I love the detailing on the clutch too. I'm excited to see your "quasi-DIY"!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous clutch!
ReplyDeleteAs for the peplum trend, I don't think it's over. People will probably think of little changes just to make sure it looks like the latest trend.

I really don't mind the peplum trend, but in "small doses" like you said. I don't think the trend is over, we'll most likely see a lot in the fall. Love how you styled this, I (Bisola) seem to have a thing for ruffle blouses - how beautiful is that purse!
ReplyDeleteHave a great 4th of July.

I love the skirt's shape!!! Super stylish!!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful accessories!!!
Have a wonderful day!!!

Another great outfit! I can't believe the skirt is from F21...it looks very well made. I have not made the plunge with the peplum trend....I just don't need the extra width at the hips. I was actually at The Limited looking at an adorable peplum top and told myself to out it down.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I am having purse envy....I love all your purses.

Me and Shar :D
I actually have a few peplum dresses from the past couple of years --but all of them have only been worn once & are now.... collecting mothballs in my closet. I think it's a cute look --but on very few skirts/dresses.
ReplyDelete<3 how you threw in splashes of bright color here and there to this outfit!
oh and thank you for your comment :]
ReplyDeleteYou look amazing! Love the clutch bag Bessie :)
ReplyDeleteI love the peplum trend, it's very feminine. I haven't tried it myself though...soon ;)

Bess, Loved the sandals and the top a lot :) you look chic :)
ReplyDeletethis is a very cute combination, and great photos. keep on with good work :)
ReplyDeleteThat skirt is really cute and goes so nicely with the bag. I like peplums but I have none myself.
ReplyDeleteYour mom's skills are so impressive, I can't wait to see what you have done. I actually started making my leather bag last Sunday by eyeballing what I thought I wanted it to look like and then cutting but I got the fabric stuck in the sewing machine so the project is on pause for now. I'm sure my stuff is nothing next to your mom's though. :)
really thank you dear!
ReplyDeleteaw love the ring & the skirt shade :)!
so nice! :)

I love your skirt!

I love the peplum design spotted on this skirt of yours. It looks so girlish sweet. Peplum is small doses or slight is fine for me. Nothing too fanciful.
ReplyDeleteRYC:
Indeed that's how most couples over here do too. Just that for traditional Chinese wedding, it could get a little more elaborate though everything could be packed in a day or 2. lol... That's why we keep teasing Xtina.
I love the skirt and the outfit you have on. I like the idea of the peplum design, but I don't think I could ever wear it.
ReplyDeleteYour outfit is fabulous, I loved the skirt and the clutch!! You look gorgeous!

that skirt looks really cute on you. i actually have a peplum top from a few years ago that i do wear occasionally. it's one of my 'eating out' clothing since the peplum hides a lot! i've actually just gotten a basic peplum top from topshop yesterday that's in a grey marl that i'm hoping to toughen up a bit.. can't wait to see your DIY!
ReplyDeleteAdorable outfit! I just love that skirt and clutch!
