Sunday Trunk Show!
Remember these vintage earrings and brooch from Bridge to Success I presented in my trunk show a few weeks ago?  Many of you expressed interest and were eager to see how I would style my new gems!  When I came across this photo of Lucy Liu in a gorgeous Giambattista Valli dress she wore to the Kung Fu Panda premiere a while back, it was just the inspiration I was looking for!  I always thought my fuchsia iridescent dress needed "something."  While the cut of the dress is simple, and the colour is bold, no matter what kind of belt or accessories I added, the end result wasn't quite what I envisioned.  For a while I had forgotten about the dress and it was sitting in the back of my closet!  Wonder if Lucy has a lot of dresses sitting in the back of her closet?  Lucy...if you ever need to find a new home for ANY of your gorgeous red carpet dresses, I'd be happy to help you rediscover them and take them off your hands!

  53. Your dress is so pretty. I think it's much more versatile than Lucy's though so good choice as a first investment the other can come later. ;) If I come to Chicago I'd totally hang out with your mother. I would trader her some of my fabrics if she'd teach me how to sew as well as she does. I'm much too impatient and just want to get things done so I tend to just sew pieces together and hope it comes out. Who needs a pattern, right?
