LUSH Cosmetics: Emotional Brilliance

Are you a LUSH, Fresh Handmade Cosmetics fan?  If so, you've probably heard about the buzz around #Emotional Brilliance.  Lush is debuting a cosmetic line designed to match your psychological needs to the color of cosmetic you should wear.  I was invited to attend the #Emotional Brilliance launch party on July 10 at the Lush boutique in Bucktown, Chicago!  Forget trend reports, indulge in your mood!

1.  Welcome to Lush!
LUSH in Bucktown Chicago
1727 North Damen Avenue
Upon arrival, we mingled, sampled, and were given the 101 on the philosophy behind LUSH!
Everything is made fresh, not tested on animals, and Lush prefers solids if possible!

Products are made from natural ingredients
Meet...#Emotional Brilliance!
30 amazing shades, which one speaks to you?
#Emotional Brilliance is also an extensive cosmetic line of powders, primers, and more!

2.  THE BACK ROOM.....
No that's not me...I had to make sure she'd return before it was my turn...JK!
A Candlelit room with a wheel...and is that smoke?
Spin the wheel of #Emotional Brilliance....(Had to add a horror flick vibe!)
Pick 3 colors that immediate catch your eye
Emotional brilliance is offered in 30 shades in the form of cream eyeshadows, liquid lipsticks, and eyeliners.  The retail price is $22.95, and it is a vegan product.  Each product is a balance of bases and pigmentation to give you either a natural or brighter effect depending on your personal application.  The word associated with the color was tested amongst thousands of  consumers to ensure it resonated among a true population!  The color meaning is noted on the tag of each product!

3.  COLOR DEBRIEF

Color #1: WISE
"Because you do know"
The first color I select symbolizes either a strength or weakness.  It happened to be "Wise," and the tag says, "Because you do know."  Wise is a cream eye shadow and while it may look like a dull avocado green, it has a beautiful gold undertone shimmer once applied!  If wisdom is a strength of mine, I'll wear this color on a day I want to accentuate this trait.

Color #2: DECISIVE
"Ready to rock"
The second color I selected represented a subconscious need.  Decisive says "I am ready to rock!"  It's a bold cherry red lipcolor, not a gloss!  I should wear it on a day when I need to remind myself to delve into the part of my mind that isn't speaking, but is influencing me.

Color #3: VIBRANCE
"Full of Life"
The third color represents talent, and what is required to achieve your subconscious need.  Vibrance is associated with livelihood.  It's a bold tangerine lipcolor, I am planning to wear this alone or as a shimmer over a lipstick!  Since this represents my talent, I should wear this to help achieve my subconscious need, which is decisive.

Putting it altogether!
Let your mood select the colors you wear
There's a degree of truth stemming from the 3 colors I selected, in the order I selected them in, as signs of my current state!  I've been craving a career change, and these colors are definitely giving me a strong signal of what's ahead!

#Emotional Brilliance officially hits North America Stores and LUSH.com on July 21, click here to preview!

  3. So you choose qualities to answer the three questions and each of the qualities is given a color that you would wear? Very interesting concept...

I have been there (and in many ways am still going through it today), and I can definitely say that while it is a challenge, it is incredibly worth it to do something you're passionate about.

  48. Have tried their bath priducts before i.e fizz bombs for the bath, soaps etc. I have given them to friends and family as gifts for christmas etc.I must admit when I pass Macys the fragrance permeates my brain! It's hard to pass the store!

  49. Gorgeous shades dear! I'm intrigued by wise and how it would wear!

You caught me out, but I don't know if you feel the same about paying for certain things. My willingness to pay definitely goes up for Chanel and Hermes but I hesitate for brands I know will go on sale (or aren't the classic names!) But you know I'm savvy too and know that I could definitely resell a Chanel or Hermes for more than what I paid if it came to that!

  52. What a fun event! I didn't know they were expanding into cosmetics. The first time I walked in to a LUSH boutique was in Canada. Now it's everywhere. One of my patients came in today raving about their facial masks (I work in Dermatology/ Medical Aesthetics). Great marketing move to focus on a mood theme. Thanks for sharing!
