My closet consists primarily of two types of blouses, collared and ruffles. Anything else is lacking. While I've tried to add more bow-front and flat collar blouses, once I enter any given store my eyes deceive me into seeing otherwise. Apparently, I prefer a collar when a vast selection is presented in front of me. As for skirts, I once had tunnel vision as well, I only bought solid coloured pencil skirts. Somehow my eyes quickly evolved from tunnel vision, and stopped skirting the issue in realizing abstract chevron skirts are a necessity! Variety takes time to build in any closet! The epiphany begins when one realizes there's a lot of ________ and not enough ______.
For me, there's a lot of black and not enough color. My closet is color-coded and the black section is basically three times as big as any other section. I really need to incorporate more color into my wardrobe. I love that blouse, and $30 for Charles David sandals is a steal!
ReplyDeleteawesome skirt pattern, dear!
ReplyDeleteI do know what it feels like. it's good for your closet but very ad for wallet in fact

It's a gorgeous outfit and I love the ruffle top :) I think it adds so much flair. I have a lot of black in my wardrobe despite my sunny personality. But, I just love wearing black, but I have been getting more colour and taking out things I won't wear anymore in black, so that's ok!! Have a great day :)
ReplyDeletei totally lack ruffles and frills in my closet.. just a lot of straight lined basics... i love that top on you though! and the hair is just perfect!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful you ! That halter blouse is Gorgeous. The pattern of the skirt is beautiful and goes very well with the blouse.I love the way you have tied your hair in these photographs. And as usual, love your Guess Sunnies, they stand out.

I love seeing you all dolled up, Bessie! I love the shape of your skirt and the chevron print is so cute. I tend to gravitate towards the same types of clothes too (ex: my stripe obsession) and have to make a conscious effort to buy other things!

ReplyDeleteThat is so true, Bessie, and I think I'm still stuck in the solid colored pencil skirt phase and need to step out of it asap! BTW, you look like Audrey Hepburn with your hair up in a bun! Absolutely beautiful! BTW, thanks a bunch for sharing such wonderful tips on what might be the best light for better quality pics and for recommending Lisa's blog and referring my blog to her, those tips are really helpful ! You indeed are a sweetheart!

It's so funny how we gravitate toward one type of thing when there are so many options but I think people get overwhelmed with too many choices. I banned myself from buying any more blue clothes because that's all I was buying and now I've just been buying everything in coral. :)
ReplyDeleteThis is such a chic outfit and you look absolutely stunning. Your hair is so elegant too!

Oh my epiphany came the other day when I was looking for a polka dot top to go with my skirt. I not only found 1 top but 5 black with white polka dot tops that would've worked for my outfit!!! I must say, at least they were all cut a little differently so that makes it ok (right?)
ReplyDeleteI am on the hunt for more printed tops or skirts...haven't braved the printed pants yet.

Looking very gorgeous indeed, Bessie! I know what you mean by tunnel vision. I am definitely stuck in my ways when it comes to blazers. I realise I don't own any proper coats that aren't blazers. Strictly speaking, I'm still waiting for my epiphany!
