Sunday Trunk Show Preview!
Today marks the 5th year anniversary at my current company!  Since I've started, many things have changed, as you'd expect from any organization.  Among the changes is the conversion of our dress code from business casual to casual.  Most days, I am in jeans so when I put together office attire for Bravoe Runway, I can't help but feel just slightly envious, and then transported into a "fantasy dress code."  If I showed up to work in an outfit like this, I'd raise a few eyebrows because it's too dressy.  Instead, this outfit will be stored in an archive lookbook, and will make its debut if I ever find a new career, in an office that requires business casual attire.  I certainly wouldn't want my business casual outfit ideas to go to waste now would I?

Has your office dress code remained the same or converted since you started?

  2. You know B, for some, jeans ARE the fantasy dress code! Really like this outfit and especially the handbag. Hope you are having a fab Monday.

  3. This look would be perfect for my office, which is business casual only if we don't have a meeting with clients or a court appearance (otherwise a full suit is required). That handbag is gorgeous - perfectly sized and structured. I love it! Congrats on 5 years at your company - my 5 year anniversary at my law firm was in March :)

  5. I'm very much a retail rat so I've never actually had the chance to wear things like this but I would so love to. The last company I worked for only allowed us to wear black, white, or grey... hence my aversion to colors I think after 2.5 yrs it will grow on you ;)

  6. I bet you're the best dressed in the office! I can tell you have thought carefully about each piece used when styling this look! I don't have an office job so I often wear crazy colour combinations! I do get a few glances on the train! xxxx

  7. Love the subtle bursts of color that you implemented into this look. My office dress code is pretty casual since I often work from home, but I do enjoy dressing up and turning heads once in awhile! This look is definitely a head-turner!

  9. I love the white pants with the printed blouse and the touch of rouge at your feet! Do you know that I'm crazy in love with those Loubis??? ;-)

  10. You look amazing. I adore your necklace and that top is amazing. I am an attorney and work in a small law office. Our dress code (except for when we have things scheduled such as court or a mediation) is fairly casual. When I first started working here I was coming to work dressed very professional everyday and was actually told that I could take it down a few notches because clients feel more comfortable when they just come in to meet with you if you are not in a suit every time.

  11. Gorgeous, love the pops of colour :) Thankfully being at home with my daughter gives me freedom to dress as I like, though I have to be aware of the sticky happy hands that come my way ;) Have a great week :) xx

  13. Now that I am primarily working from home, I miss playing dress-up everyday and wearing all my gorgeous blazers. Of course if I was dressing up everyday, I would feel the opposite...you know, grass is greener blah, blah, blah...haha! PS> I want your shoes!

  14. Love the pop of color with the shoes. This outfit looks SO much like the one I wear every day. I'm a big fan of neutrals with a color burst somewhere in the outfit.

  21. Love your outfit, especially your necklace. GORGEOUS! Looks like the one (but in blue) for J. Crew.

  22. I love the $10 H&M blouse with this whole look! And I think we talked about this before....but I tried on those red Loub's at Neimans a few years ago. Didn't end up buying them...bought the blue Rolandos that were ultimately too small (and sold them on eBay last year!), haha. ;-)

  23. Things have changed here. It used to be jackets and ties at every meeting. But in the summer some of out meeting rooms get warm, so I started taking off my jackt as soon as I arrived for meetings. I got looked at funny. But soon other sufferers started doing the same thing and soon we were going to meetings with no jackets. I'm now trying to lead the way to no ties. But most of our senior leaders are retired military, so I doubt I'll succeed for quite some time. But who are we trying to impress when it's just an internal meeting???

Anyway, have you been asked to appear in ads? I'll be surprised if not, you've got the look.

  27. You look great in this outfit!! I'm sorry to hear its too dressy for work, because you look stunning in it. I especially love your necklace and bright shoes.

The dress code at my office is business casual, but I have the liberty to dress anyway I want to be honest since its a family business. I usually try to dress modest and professional, but still very colorful and fun.

  39. My dress code remains the same- pajamas. Sigh. Someday (soon, hopefully!) you and I will both be dressing for the fantasy office :)

  40. I've been sort of trying to force my dress code into business casual. I got tired of being able to pass off my slippers as work shoes so now I'm always the best dressed in the office. I don't have anywhere else to go that would require me wearing heels so I always end up wearing them to work. It's fun! And I think my coworkers enjoy the fashion show ;o)

I've grown a love for office attire done correctly... just like this! I don't work in an office anymore but I like to bring the sophistication to everyday life a little bit once in a while.

  50. Ahhh Bessie, I love this! What I especially like is that it's a neutral outfit, yet your shoes, ring, nails, and lips all POP! Great look! My company dress code went from business casual to casual. We wear jeans everyday. Which is fun, but it gets old. I'm always trying to find new ways to wear them, and REFUSE to wear sneakers! Congrats on 5 years!

  58. There is no official dress code where I work but since people are usually meeting with clients they are usually dressed up. I've worked places where anything goes as well.

One of my friends has a job where if he wears a tie they ask where he had an interview that morning. He really just wants to dress up.

  59. Love this ideal business casual look of yours, Bessie! My sis-in-law lives in London, England, and she always tells me how prim and proper the Britishers are even when they are going for grocery shopping! I wish it was something close to that here in the US especially in areas where I live! I'm so tired of seeing women in shorts/Jeans and sweatshirts!
