My wardrobe in the past year has not only gained perspective, but also...spectrum. One of the most frequent comments I receive is, "I never would have thought to put _____ with _____." My secret? The monthly recap of looks! While some may say, why regurgitate all the looks in 1 post? It's my tool to get an idea of where I placed too much, not enough, or just enough focus on a particular style genre or garment. I can also get a sense of what topics I've yet to address. Case in point, to date, all of my looks created with stripes was suitable for casual and daytime! I never really thought of taking stripes from casual to dressy, the secret? It's in the colours, jewelry, shoes...and of course, the handbag!

ReplyDeleteWhat I really like about that dress is how it combines the vertical and horizontal stripping without looking thrown together and the gathering st the waist. The peep toe pumps and your earrings are lovely too.

Interesting how you come check out the looks and see what you did. Purple and teal are two of my favorite colors so I love how this all ties together! Can't say I've ever owned anything striped that wasn't black and white tho but I would give this a try for sure :)

But that dress looks lovely on you, was going to get the maxi version (Bisola) from a store in London, but they sold out before I got to it :(

I would definitely wear stripes on a night out, and have actually with my silk striped dress. I believe you can make any stripe as dress or as casual as you want, depends on the fabric and how it's styled. This is one my favourites! Great dress!

Yay, you showed your stripes today! I love this dress and yes, I would wear it for night time but I'd probably opt for a closed toe to make it more evening-ish (to not show my likely bright summer nail polish).
